Business Development
The business development department was created to enhance the contract/design division’s level of customer service, and create extensive relationships with architects – general contractors – foodservice consultants – chains – developers – entrepreneurs. In addition business development is mandated to assess, evaluate, establish, develop and maintain business relationships that results in design – design + build – bid/build business segments.
With the continued growth of the foodservice industry, R.W. Smith & Company’s contract/design division provides multiple skill sets to complement the variety of departments. Clients contacting the division have an entry contact in business development that is handled by an industry professional of several decades, and who has intricate knowledge of the division’s operational structure. The clients find their needs are filled quickly and efficiently with one simple phone call to bus-dev.
Daily assignments include:
- Distribution of incoming leads to the ideal department
- Creation & implementation of marketing literature
- Establish & run advertising and public relation campaigns
- Participation/attending exhibitions, professional organizations, and seminars
- Manages relationships with prospective organizations and existing clients
- Interface with contract sales in support of building sales volume
- Interface with estimating team in support of improved vendor relations
